OneSignal, Braze or InsiderOne: which one fits your team?

Push-first and quick to start, enterprise-grade journeys, or website personalisation with messaging built in. Three good platforms, built for different teams. Here is how to tell which one is yours.

The short answer

OneSignal for lean teams that need dependable push, email and in-app without a big project. Braze for teams with the people to run real-time journeys across many channels. InsiderOne when personalising your website matters as much as your messages.

WHICH ONE, WHEN

When each one is the better choice.

Pick OneSignal when…

  • A lean team needs dependable push, email and in-app without a long project.
  • You want to start free, and see prices before you talk to sales.
  • Push is the main channel and the rest is a bonus.

Pick Braze when…

  • You have, or will hire, people to run a sophisticated platform every day.
  • Journeys need to react to what customers do as it happens, across many channels.
  • You need channels like WhatsApp, LINE and Content Cards in one place, and the budget to match.

Pick InsiderOne when…

  • Your website matters as much as your messages: personalised pages, search and recommendations.
  • You're in retail, e-commerce or travel and want customer profiles built in.
  • You'd value a vendor with an office in Cape Town.
HOW WE HELP

How we help

A platform nobody uses properly is an expensive subscription. We pick it with you, then make sure it earns its keep.

01

An honest pick

We look at your team, your channels, your data and your budget, and recommend the platform that fits.

02

Implementation

SDKs, data, channels and your first journeys, built so your team can run them.

03

Migration

Moving off Firebase, an old email tool or another platform without losing your audiences.

04

Running it

Campaign and journey support for teams that need extra hands, or just a second opinion.

IN THE INTEREST OF FAIRNESS

Who we partner with

OneSignal and InsiderOne are partners of ours. We implement and support Braze too, without a partnership, and we'll recommend it when it's the right fit.

FAQS

The questions people ask us first.

Which one is cheapest?

OneSignal is the only one with public prices: a free plan, and Growth from $19 a month plus usage. Braze and InsiderOne price by quote, so compare them on a real quote for your volumes.

Do they all do WhatsApp?

Braze and InsiderOne support WhatsApp as a native channel (on Braze it depends on your package). OneSignal can send WhatsApp messages through Journeys and webhooks with Meta or Twilio, on a paid plan.

Where is our customer data stored?

None of the three lists a data centre in Africa. OneSignal's primary data centres are in the EU, Braze runs clusters in the US, EU and Asia-Pacific, and InsiderOne hosts on AWS in regions including Ireland and the UAE. Under POPIA that's a cross-border transfer: manageable, but it needs handling properly.

We're on Firebase Cloud Messaging. What's the natural next step?

For most scaling apps, OneSignal is the gentlest step up. If you already know you need complex journeys and have the team to run them, look at Braze.

Is InsiderOne the same company as Insider?

Yes. Insider rebranded as Insider One in December 2025.
